“The Thinker” is a study that reflects on the search for a good
composition, inspired by Rodin’s famous Thinker. The roots of the tree
draw the eye into the painting and the atmospheric perspective creates
depth together with the small reflection on the water. The thinker (or
rather the overthinker) is pondering for so long that their body
completely deteriorates in search of answers. Before this painting was
finished it had already found an interested party, which resulted in
the painting staying two-toned and finding a new home.
